SONAPOST is a state company whose capital is entirely held by the state, with a separate legal personality and financial autonomy. SONAPOST's main functions are: – to provide the public postal service in all its forms in domestic and international relations. It has for this purpose a monopoly on letter conveyance and on packets and papers up to weight and price limits set by decree; – to mobilize and promote savings, payment of securities, bills and postal transfers exchanged outside its area of competence; – to provide services in relation to means of payment and transfer of funds, savings products and giro.。
